David Selig is a passionate artist, eclectic and rare, who manages with enthusiasm his career worldwide as a soloist, in chamber music, in recitals with singers.

He started his musical studies at the age of 6 years old in Melbourne, Australia (piano and also cello and percussion). He came in Europe, settled in Paris in 1976 and entered the National Conservatoire directed by Aldo Ciccolini. After first prizes in piano, chamber music and musical aesthetics, he improved his playing with Goeffrey Parsons and Guido Agosti. He is laureate of international competitions of Sydney and The Hague (accompaniment competition.)

He performed in the most prestigious venues : Concertgebouw, Carnegie Recital Hall, Wigmore Hall, Théâtre du Chatelet… Passionated since his chilhood by chamber music, he devotes himself to it. He works with such singers as Felicity Lott, Christianne Stotijn, François le Roux, Ingrid Perruche, Sandrine Piau, Chiara Skerath, Mady Mesplé, Véronique Gens, Nathalie Stutzmann, Elly Ameling..., or instrumentsts as Gary Hoffman, Philippe Graffin, Juliette Hurel, Régis et Bruno Pasquier, Saténik Khourdoïan…

He was chosen to perform in the first recitals series at Opéra Bastille in 1989. The same year, he recorded his first cd (Villa-Lobos chamber music). In 1990, he recorded Brahms' Lieder, with the baritone Udo Reinemann. He recorded for EMI, REM (with François Le Roux), Forlane, Globe. His last record was full works for cello and piano by Mendelssohn with Gary Hoffmann, for Dolce Volta.

David Selig regularly performs in France, Spain, Netherlands, and in America, Far-East. This season, he will be in Australia (Sydney and Melbourne) and tour in the Netherlands, Germany, New-York.

He gives piano and melody and chamber music masterclasses. Since 2011, he is professor at Lyon CNSMD and since 2004 he is the artistic director of Les Journées Romantiques festival, on a parisian barge in september.
