Elsa Maurus is an French operatic mezzo-soprano who started an active international career in 1992. She was quickly approached by a number of theatres and subsequently performed in most dramatic mezzo-roles of the operatic repertoire (“Carmen”, “The Barber of Seville”, “The Tales of Hoffmann”). She notably performed in the the Teatro alla Scala, the Wiener Musikverein and other opera houses under the direction of reknowned conductors such as Lorin Maazel and Georges Prêtre. Since 2009, Elsa Maurus is also a vocal teacher at the CRR de Paris and the Nadia and Lili Boulanger conservatory. Since 2010 she is a lecturer at Sciences Po Paris (“La voix dans tous ses états”) where she is also a part of the FORCCAST international research group on public speaking.
