Katharina Treutler has given numerous recitals around the world, performing in Europe, Asia and the USA. As a soloist she has worked with leading orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony, the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Israel Camerata Jerusalem, the Staatsorchester Rheinische Philharmonie, the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonisches Orchester Erfurt, the Thüringen Philharmonie Gotha, the Meininger Hofkapelle and the San Diego Symphony Orchestra.
Born in Erfurt in Germany, Katharina Treutler began playing the piano at the age of seven. After completing her school education, she studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover with Professor Bernd Goetzke. Having obtained her diploma in Hannover, she continued her studies at the Tokyo College of Music and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris under Jacques Rouvier where she earned a master’s degree. She also studied chamber music with Claire Désert and musicology at the Université Sorbonne Paris and from 2011 until 2013 she continued her studies with Dmitri Bashkirov at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid. Afterwards she received a soloist diploma with honours from the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg where she studied with Eric le Sage. She took a number of master classes with, amongst others, Arie Vardi, Mikhail Voskresensky, Matti Raekallio, Daejin Kim, Jura Margulis and Ferenc Rados.
She has been invited to perform at a number of international music festivals such as the Braunschweiger Classix, the Lisztomanias of Châteauroux, Piano en Saintonge, the Liszt-Biennale Thüringen, the International Chamber Music Festival of Pharos in Cyprus and the Génération Virtuoses in Antibes.
Throughout her career Katharina Treutler has won several international prizes such as first prize in the International Piano Competition Luciano Luciani in Italy, first prize in the International Music Competition 2nd Braunschweig Classic Open in Germany, first prize in Les Rencontres Internationales des Jeunes Pianistes in Belgium, first prize in the Jugend Musiziert Federal Competition in Germany, first prize at the Steinway Competition in Berlin (duet category) and the special prize of the Chopin Society in Germany, first prize at the Grotrian-Steinweg-Competition in Braunschweig, first prize in the Jugend Musiziert Federal Competition in Germany (duet category), as well as the Diethard Wucher Prize and the Special Prize awarded by the Musikleben Foundation in Germany. She also won the second prize and numerous special prizes at the Bach Competition, the second prize and the Public’s prize at the Campillos International Piano Competition, the second prize and the special prize at the International Piano Competition Roberta Gallinari, the Public’s prize of the International Piano Academy Freiburg and finally the third prize at the International Brahms Competition. In 2013 she was a member of the jury at the Ramon Llull International Piano Competition at the Rotary Club in Palma, Majorca.
Since 2016 Katharina Treutler has been teaching at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater “Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Leipzig.
In February 2015, the album Final Symphony was released digitally worldwide with Katharina performing works from video game composer Nobuo Uematsu both solo and with the London Symphony Orchestra. Recorded in the Abbey Road Studios in London, it reached the top of the iTunes-Classical Music charts in more than ten countries as well as the Classical Album top 5 of the Billboard charts and the Official Charts UK.

La pianiste Katharina Treutler se produit en concert dans de très nombreux pays d’Europe et d’Asie, ainsi qu’aux États-Unis. Comme soliste, elle a joué notamment avec l‘Orchestre symphonique de Londres (LSO), l’Orchestre symphonique de San Francisco, l’Orchestre philharmonique de Tokyo, l’Orchestre philharmonique royal de Stockholm, l’Orchestre philharmonique d’Arménie, l’Orchestre symphonique de Baltimore, la Camerata Israël de Jérusalem, l’Orchestre philharmonique rhénan (Coblence), l’Orchestre philharmonique des Pays-Bas, l’Orchestre symphonique d’Aarhus, l’Orchestre philharmonique d’Erfurt, l’Orchestre philharmonique de Thuringe-Gotha, la Hofkapelle de Meiningen et l’Orchestre symphonique de San Diego.
Née à Erfurt, Katharina Treutler a commencé à étudier le piano à l'âge de sept ans. Après son bac, elle étudie à la Hochschule für Musik und Theater de Hanovre auprès de Bernd Goetzke. Après avoir obtenu son diplôme, elle effectue un séjour d'études au Tokyo College of Music. Dans la foulée, elle devient étudiante au Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris auprès de Jacques Rouvier, où elle obtient un Master. Elle étudie également la musique de chambre avec Claire Désert et la musicologie à la Sorbonne (université Paris IV). De 2011 à 2013, elle se perfectionne auprès de Dmitri Bashkirov à l'Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía de Madrid. Elle étudie ensuite avec Eric Le Sage à la Hochschule für Musik Fribourg-en-Brisgau, où elle obtient son diplôme de soliste avec les félicitations du jury. Elle a suivi les masterclasses d'Arie Vardi, Mikhail Voskresensky, Matti Raekallio, Daejin Kim, Jura Margulis et Ferenc Rados, entre autres.
Elle a été l'invitée de festivals tels que Braunschweiger Classix, les Lisztomanias de Châteauroux, Piano en Saintonge, la Liszt-Biennale de Thuringe, le Festival international de musique de chambre de Pharos à Chypre ou encore Antibes Génération Virtuoses.
Katharina Treutler est lauréate de nombreux concours internationaux: elle a notamment remporté le premier prix du Concours Luciano Luciani, en Italie; le premier prix de la International Music Competition 2nd Braunschweig Classic Open; en Allemagne; le premier prix des Rencontres Internationales des Jeunes Pianistes, en Belgique; le premier prix du Concours fédéral Jugend musiziert, en Allemagne; le premier prix du Concours Steinway de Berlin (catégorie piano à quatre mains) avec le prix spécial de la Société Chopin; le premier prix du Concours Grotrian-Steinweg à Braunschweig; le premier prix du Concours fédéral Jugend Musiziert, en Allemagne (catégorie piano à quatre mains) avec le prix Diethard Wucher et le prix spécial de la
Fondation allemande Musikleben. Elle a aussi remporté le deuxième prix et plusieurs prix spéciaux au Concours Bach, le deuxième prix et le prix du public du Campillos International Piano Competition, le deuxième prix et le prix spécial de la International Piano Competition Roberta Gallinari, le prix du public de l'Académie internationale de piano de Fribourg-en-Brisgau et le troisième prix au Concours international Johannes Brahms. En 2013, elle est membre du jury du Concours international de piano Ramon Llull au Rotary Club de Palma de Majorque.
Depuis 2016, Katharina Treutler enseigne à la Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ de Leipzig.
En février 2015, l'album Final Symphony de Nobuo Uematsu est sorti au format digital dans le monde entier; Katharina y joue aux côtés du London Symphony Orchestra ainsi qu'en solo.
Enregistré dans les studios d’Abbey Road à Londres, cet album est apparu, dans plus de dix pays, au sommet du classement musique classique d'iTunes ainsi que dans le top 5 des albums classiques dans les classements Billboard Charts et Official Charts au Royaume-Uni.
